Pirates meet Mermaids in Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides

Pirates and mermaids are both water creatures, though one is above and the other is under.

Have you every wondered why in the three movies of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Jack Sparrow has never encountered a mystical fish-tailed singing creature?

The probable answer is that they are saving it for the fourth installment, which is dubbed as the first movie of the new Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.

However, this mermaid is not like the one we see in the animated movie The Little Mermaid.

Entertainment Weekly magazine gives us a hint of how the mermaid will look like in a concept art. This one looks more fishy than womanly. She has no shells in her chest and sparkling eyes. Her whole body is covered with scales and her gills are prominent.
