"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" Movie Review: Life-changing and Inspirational
People say that a new year brings new challenges and new opportunities. If you are planning to have a career move, or bring something to a new leaf, or even lift a new chapter to your life's pages, then the movie to watch first is 20th Century Fox's 2013 adventure comedy-drama film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".
Walter Mitty (played by Ben Stiller) has a very ordinary life. He has gone to no places at all, basically, he has a boring life. And may I add to that, he has no love life and a frequently zoned-out guy. He always zoned-out or temporarily goes out of reality and daydreams a lot. He daydreams of saving a dog in a building that is about to explode, an adventure to a mountain with the girl of his dreams, and something to that effect among others.
When his company, Life Magazine, is on the verge of losing people due to digital transition from print magazine to online edition, Walter suddenly received a package to a famous photographer where film negatives are packed inside. The negatives contain a film role where film number 25, which is the supposed last cover of the Life as proposed by Sean O'Connell (played by Sean Penn) has gone missing for some reasons. Walter Mitty must track down O'Connell's whereabouts but finds himself in an unexpected and unbelievable journey of his lifetime.
The movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is perhaps one of the most realistic realizations of a person or character in a movie. It's modern take to inspire people to "follow their dreams" and "dreams are meant to become reality" are perhaps just two of the lessons that you can get after watching the film. It is somehow believable, spontaneous, and true to its nature.
Like I said in the first paragraph, the movie is so inspiring, I hope people can relate to Walter Mitty after watching the film. If you are looking for that one opportunity that will push you to pursue your dreams, I would suggest you to watch this movie.
Be ready to be inspired as you watch "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", which is readily available in DVD and Blu-ray formats, and digital format in YouTube, Google Movies, and iTunes. An 8 out of 10 movie experience.
