Movie Review: "The Drop" an Unpredictable Haunting Crime Saga
One of the strong points of an effective film is the unpredictability of the twists on its plot. A great example of a film that maintained its intriguing nature is "The Drop". The film skillfully revolved around a small group actors and actresses and yet managed to hold and maintain a huge impact from beginning to end. The impressive cinematography of the film intensified the tension between the different confrontation scenes. The director enhanced the viewing pleasure of the audiences to the point where it's as if you are actually present in the actual scenes. The actors and actresses' performances are striking and truly eloquent.
“The Drop,” a thrilling and emotional drama that stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and Matthias Schoenaerts based on a short story by Dennis Lehane follows Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy), a lonely bartender who one day finds a pit bull puppy in a trash can. Soon Bob will cross paths with the equally damaged Nadia (Noomi Rapace), her ex-boyfriend Eric (Matthias Schoenaerts) and a gang of hardened Chechen criminals.
"The Drop" director Michaël Roskam assembled an international cast for his American film debut in “The Drop,” including British actor Tom Hardy (Bob Saginowksi), who electrified audiences as the masked criminal mastermind Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises,” Swedish-Spanish actress Noomi Rapace (Nadia), who captured international acclaim as the brilliant, damaged Lisbeth Salander in the original “The Girl with the Golden Tattoo” series; the late “The Sopranos” star and New Jersey native James Gandolfini (Bob's cousin Marv) in his last film role; as well as and Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts (Eric Deeds), who played the lead role in Roskam’s award-winning “Bullhead.”

“The Drop” will finally open today in theatres on November 12 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.
