"Alice in Wonderland" Sequel in the Works

The most anticipated sequel to the 2010 blockbuster hit movie by Tim Burton, "Alice in Wonderland" starring Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mia Wasikowska will finally push through as the production of the film begins this week. However, Burton is not directing the "Alice" movie sequel, "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass" but will be co-producing it.

Joining the film's ensemble of cast is British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and Rhys Ifans. All of the main actors will reprise their respective roles in the Alice movie sequel. Director James Bobin is set to direct "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass" and is being shot both on location and at the Shepperton Studios.

"Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass" is set for release in May 2016 due to animation and special effects post-production where the movie is best known for. It will be remembered that the first "Alice" movie received the best costume and best art direction Oscar Awards in 2010. If this is the case, then that's a lot of waiting to do! I hope it's worth the long wait.
