The Directors Guild of America Announces Nominations!

The Directors Guild of America (DGA) committee, an award-giving body made by Hollywood movie directors, chosen by Hollywood movie directors, with Hollywood directors as members as well, recently announced its list of nominees to their prestigious Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for the year 2009.

It is said that the chosen winner in this year's DGA Award will become a possible winner to the upcoming Academy Awards (The OSCARS) this coming February in the Best Director category. So, whoever will win in the list of nominees below for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for 2009, is predicted to be the winner in the Academy Awards this 2010! Interesting! Just like last year when movie director Danny Boyle of Slumdog Millionaire won the Outstanding Directorial Achievement Award, he also won in the OSCARS Best Director category. Okay, now lets see if this year's DAG's prediction will come true when the winner is announced later this January.

The Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film 2009 nominees

Below are five directors wishing to win the prestigious Directors Guild of America Award plaque. Among the five directors, of course, I am cheering for James Cameron in his wonderful creation in the world of Avatar!

Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker
James Cameron for Avatar
Lee Daniels for Precious
Jason Reitman for Up in the Air
Quentin Tarantino for Inglourious Basterds

So, who do you think will win the 2009 Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film Award? Who's your bet?
