And the PMPC Star Awards for Movies Goes To… Plot Twists, Powerhouses, and Pinoy Cinema!

Two Best Actress winners, a surprise Best Director, and a night full of cinematic standouts! 🇵🇭✨

The stars aligned at the 42nd PMPC Star Awards for Movies, held on October 25, 2026, at Winford Resort and Casino Manila, as Philippine cinema celebrated its finest talents, from industry veterans to rising stars.

It was a tie for the spotlight as Diamond Star Maricel Soriano (Meet, Greet Bye) and Maris Racal (Sunshine) shared the Movie Actress of the Year award. Two generations of talent, one well-deserved win each!

Meanwhile, Jericho Rosales took home Movie Actor of the Year for his performance in Jerold Tarog’s Quezon. Unable to attend the ceremony, director Tarog accepted the trophy on his behalf.

Director Lester Pimentel Ong also got an unexpected moment in the spotlight when he was announced as Best Director for The Delivery Rider, starring Baron Geisler and Jennica Garcia.

Adding another surprise to the evening, Richard Quan won Best Supporting Actor for How to Get Away From My Toxic Family, while award-winning actress Sylvia Sanchez claimed Best Supporting Actress for I’mPerfect.

The next generation of movie stars also made their mark, with Krystel Go winning New Movie Actress of the Year and JM Ibarra taking home New Movie Actor of the Year. JM also shared another win with Fyang Smith as Movie Love Team of the Year.

And, of course, no celebration of Philippine cinema would be complete without honoring its icons. Vilma Santos-Recto, Ricky Lee, and Albert Michael Idioma were inducted into the Hall of Fame in their respective categories, while Sharon Cuneta received the Nora Aunor Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award.
