Award-winning veteran actor RONNIE LAZARO is in the lead role once again in "LOLA BARANG"

Award-winning veteran actor RONNIE LAZARO is in the lead role once again in "LOLA BARANG", a horror movie from Total Ace Media and Silverjade Entertainment.  His last horror flick was "Yanggaw" in 2008.  Introducing in  "Lola Barang" is new actress Lizzie Aguinaldo who is also a singer.

"Lola Barang" will be shown in cinemas starting August 6 (Wed), the first local independently-produced film to be distributed by Rafaella Films, a long-time distributor of foreign movie titles in the country.

“Lola Barang” is a new Pinoy horror flick topbilled by seasoned and awarded actor Ronnie Lazaro – who has a solid body of work since the '80s -- with the special participation of veteran thespian Ms. Gina Pareño.

Also in the cast are commendable actors Richard Quan, Alan Paule, Lou Veloso, Mercedes Cabral, along with Marlo Mortel, Ronwaldo Martin, Donna Cariaga, Jomari Angeles, Ahwel Paz, and introducing Lizzie Aguinaldo (in pink dress in the photo below).

“Lola Barang” is about a renowned horror director Joey Perez (Ronnie Lazaro).

Unbeknown to many, his story ideas come from Lola Barbara (Gina Pareño), a folk healer. In exchange for her stories, Joey promised to give Lola Barbara a break as an actress in one of his films.

As Joey attains more success as a filmmaker, his promise to Lola Barbara has slipped his mind.  This leaves Lola Barbara to come up with her next plot: plotting her revenge for a promise unfulfilled. Lola Barang is the nickname of Barbara which refers to a kind of black magic or sorcery.
