Movie Review: Collateral Beauty
A film about unexpected things happening unexpectedly. "Collateral Beauty" deals with more that just the journey of people who have lost someone dear. It is collection of different stories interwoven by death, time, and love. A distinct set of characters with contrasting point of views are seamlessly brought into a wonderful plot that would surely make the viewers feel the film.
The film is about friendships, family, relationships and life itself. It deals with the unspeakable grief that someone feels in the loss of a loved one. It also deals with the hope that people hold on to in the times of sorrow.
What we like about "Collateral Beauty" is that the plot just flows like an unexpected stream of events that surprise you on every bend. There are many memorable moments in the film and they are meant to touch your heart more than anything.
The limited characters of the films allowed the viewers to know the characters a little deeper compared to a film with a large cast. The cinematography of the film was stunningly showing the beauty of the recognizable places while side by side showing meaningful scenes.
We agreed that the film deserves to be watched in the movie theatre with someone you care for. Surely an interesting movie to watch after the holidays.
The filmmakers sought an actor who could take on Howard's complexities while remaining relatable and appealing. As producer Michael Sugar puts it, “Will Smith is a star with unparalleled charisma. The role of Howard had to be played by someone audiences can embrace, and we felt that Will was a perfect fit.”
