'Da Vinci Code' Sequel 'Inferno' Set for 2016 Release

Inferno, the fourth book in Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series, is finally being developed into the film. The adventures of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon from the book continues in this most awaited sequel. A brief synopsis was released by Columbia along with the casting announcement:

“When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s Inferno.”

Tom Hanks is set to reprise his role as Langdon when shooting begins in April. It is now official that Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) as Dr. Sienna Brooks, Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) as Harry Sims (also known as The Provost), Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Christoph Bruder and Sidse Babett Knudsen (“Borgen”) as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization, will be joining Hanks, as Columbia Pictures announced the film’s supporting cast







Inferno director/producer Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer, behind 2009’s The Da Vinci Code, are still in talks with other internationally known actors for major roles.

Principal photography on Inferno will begin at the end of April, and the film is set for an Oct. 14, 2016, release.
