First Look Photo: 'The Lazarus Effect' - Olivia Wilde brings the dead to life

The Lazarus Effect is an upcoming American horror film directed by David Gelb and written by Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater. The film stars Evan Peters, Olivia Wilde, Sarah Bolger, Mark Duplass and Donald Glover. The film is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2015, by Relativity Media.

“The reason I love to do low-budget movies is you can try different things… have creative freedom and experiment, like our characters,” Blum says, referring to the cast of characters in Blumhouse Productions’ upcoming sci-fi/horror flick The Lazarus Effect, which arrives in Philippine theaters March 4. Those creative risks started with the director, David Gelb, known for his award-winning documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi—not the obvious choice. “But he had a great take on the material,” which Blum describes as “a really unique take on bringing someone back from the dead.”

A team of medical students have found a way to bring dead patients back to life. When Zoe (Olivia Wilde) dies, they attempt to duplicate the procedure that was done on animals on to her, and succeed. But is it really Zoe that has come back? Or something else? Something evil.
