"Nightcrawler" is the upcoming film of Jake Gyllenhaal where he plays the roll of Lou Bloom, a young man desperate for work as he discovers the nocturnal world of L.A. crime journalism.

During one of his assignments, Lou Bloom finds a group of freelance camera crews who film car crashes, fires, murder, and other mayhem. Together with his team of crime journalist, Lou muscles into the cut-throat and dangerous realm of nightcrawling -- where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. When there is crime, there's money. Aided by a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news anchor, Nina (Rene Russo), Lou thrives to crime journalism until he becomes the star of his own story.
