Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2013 Official Entries


It's this time of the year once again when eight all-original Filipino movies were chosen to be showcased to the annual Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 (MMFF 2013). Now on it's 39th year of showcasing Filipino movies, talent, and ingenuity, the MMFF 2013 is an annual event for local movie producers, talents, directors, screenwriters, and production crews to give moviegoers something special during the Christmas season. The MMFF 2013 movies are set to be shown in movie theaters nationwide starting December 25. During the festival season, no foreign movies are to be shown in any movie theaters across the Philippines.

The eight (8) official movie entries for the MMFF 2013 are chosen by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) committee led by Chairman Francis Tolentino. This year's eight official entries are composed of comedy, action, drama, horror, and inspirational movies from different big movie producers and independent movie production outfits. Below are the 8 official movie entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2013).

8 Official Movie Entries to MMFF 2013

* 10,000 Hours


Starring Robin Padilla, Mylene Dizon, Alden Richards, Joem Bascon, Pen Medina, etc. From Philippine Film Studios, directed by Joyce Bernal.

Short Synopsis: "10,000 Hours" is the journey of a man who has lived his life by the law and for the law. But, he is also a man betrayed by the law.


* Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy


Starring Vice Ganda, Joey Marquez, and Maricel Soriano. From Star Cinema and Viva Entertainment, directed by Wenn V. Deramas.

Short Synopsis: "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" is a story about quadruplets separated at birth where the girl and the boy lived a rich life and the gay and lesbian (bakla and tomboy) lived in poverty with their four other siblings. When the quadruplets found each other, a family riot occurred.


* Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel


Starring Eugene Domingo, Sam Milby, Angel Aquino, Ariel Ureta, and Joel Torre. From Spring Films, MJM Productions, and Quantum Films, written and directed by Chris Martinez.

Short Synopsis: "Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel" tells the story of twins, Kimmy and Dora before the events that happened in two succeeding "Kimmy Dora" film franchise. This prequel is said to be the last "Kimmy Dora" film. Sam Milby stars in the prequel as Kimmy and Dora's leading man.


* Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay


Starring Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Paulo Avelino, Shaina Magdayao. From Star Cinema and Regal Films directed by Frasco Mortiz.

Short Synopsis: "Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay" tells the story of a Filipino tradition on funerals where one should visit a place first before going home (pagpag). If one does not follow the tradition, the spirit of the dead is said to follow you.


* My Little Bossings


Starring Vic Sotto, Kris Aquino, James "Bimby" Aquino-Yap, and Ryzza Mae Dizon. From OctoArts Films, MZET Films, APT Entertainment, and Kris Aquino Productions, directed by Marlon N. Rivera.

Short Synopsis: "My Little Bossings" is Bimby James' debut movie. When Intoy got attitude issues to some of his family members, her mother let her spend time with the family driver at their home to learn some valuable lessons. In there, he met a ferocious little lady that he will be dealing with.


* Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir


Starring Rocco Nacino, Christian Vazquez, Jestoni Alarcon, Ryan Eigenmann, and many more. From HPI Synergy Group and Wings Entertainment, written and directed by Francis O. Villacorta.

Short Synopsis: "Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir" is a historical epic adventure film about the life and martyrdom of the Filipino saint that changed the Marianas Islands forever.


* Kaleidoscope World


Starring Sef Cadayona, Yassi Pressman, Alma Concepcion, Pia Pilapil, and many more. From iAct Productions.

Short Synopsis: "Kaleidoscope World" is the first Philippine hip hop dance indie film inspired by the music of Francis Magalona.


* Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story


Starring ER Ejercito, KC Concepcion, Eddie Garcia, John Estrada, Tonton Gutierrez, and many more. Directed by Chito S. Roño.

Short Synopsis: "Boy Golden: The Arturo Porcuna Story" tells the life story of a gang leader Arturo Porcuna alias Boy Golden during the 1960s in the streets of Manila.
