Movie Review: Kick Ass 2

When you thought a sequel to a great movie couldn't exceed the first one, "Kick Ass 2" had just surpassed the first one. I enjoyed the first movie with a "not your typical" super hero movie plot/feel that continued on this film. Kick Ass 2 kept the charm and feel of the first movie and added more surprises in the current.

Excellent acting all round especially from Jim Carrey and Chloe Moretz who has been my favorite since the first movie. Hit-Girl's character developed into a fiercer super protagonist (In my opinion, she just got sexier after a few years). I just love how she flawlessly performs her hand to hand stunts and her rhythmic fight scenes with blades. Kick Ass also had better fight scenes due to the training Hit Girl has given him. Bodybuilder Olga Kurkulina portrayed the villainess Mother Russia (My favorite new character in this sequel).

The improvements on the costume and better effects are also seen in this sequel. The fight scenes are very realistic. I feel that parental guidance should be advised for very young viewers to explain most of the stunts are just done for the movies and no real harm is done (thus, the R-13 rating of the film). I like the vibrant cinematography accompanied with a cool line-up of sound track and musical score used all through-out the movie.

"Kick-Ass 2" is a 2013 British-American superhero action comedy film based on the comic book of the same name and Hit-Girl, both by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr., and is a sequel to the 2010 film Kick-Ass. The film was written and directed by Jeff Wadlow and co-produced by Matthew Vaughn, who directed the first film.

Dave Lizewski/Kick-Ass returns to his superhero career, joining a team of fellow vigilantes called "Justice Forever" while getting involved in a physical relationship with Night-Bitch. Mindy Macready decides to retire from her Hit-Girl persona at the request of her new guardian. Chris D'Amico/Red Mist resurfaces as the world's first supervillain, "The Mother F*cker", leading his own team "The Toxic Mega Cunts" to get revenge on Kick-Ass for his role in his father's death in the previous film. The feud results in an all-out gang war between Justice Forever and the Toxic Mega Cunts.

"Kick Ass 2" will hit the movie theaters coming on August 14, 2013. The full movie trailer of "Kick Ass 2" is shown below. Enjoy!
