Lucasfilms announces Star Wars in 3D and other 3D news!


Are you a fan of 3D?

Lucasfilm Ltd., the movie outfit that brought you the Star Wars epic saga trilogies, announces the 3D release of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in 3D format to be released in different 3D movie theaters worldwide on 2012. This is 3D format release is in cooperation with the film outfit, 20th Century Fox.



The 3D format release of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace project is being supervised by the Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), a division of Lucasfilm, Ltd., which brought you the cutting edge technology behind every Star Wars Episode Saga. The Visual Effects Supervisor for ILM, John Knoll, said in an interview that it would take a critical and artistic eye along with an incredible attention to detail to be successful (in doing this 3D format). He also stated that this is not something that you can rush if you want to expect good results. "For Star Wars we will take our time, applying everything we know both aesthetically and technically to bring audiences a fantastic new Star Wars experience," John Knoll added.

20th Century Fox also brings you an impressive line-up of 3D movies that will surely take your 3D movie watching experience to a higher level. The film outfit will be showing "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader", "Gulliver's Travels", and "Rio".

About The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader



Enter the world of fantasy as one of the beloved novels of C. S. Lewis returns to the big screen with "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader" with Lucy and Edmund Pevensie. The two of them, together with their cousin Eustace and now king of Narnia, King Caspian voyage the Narnian sea via the fantastic Narnian ship, the Dawn Treader. This voyage will make the fate of Narnia. The adventure will take you to mysterious islands, to a river that turns to gold, to different encounters to magical creatures and sinister enemies, and finally to a reunion to a long lost friend, the "Great Lion" Aslan.



Directed by Michael Apted, "The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader" boards the return of Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes, and Georgie Henley with Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan.

About Gulliver's Travels



Jonathan Swift's well-loved classic novel is re-told and re-imagined with a new twist in this one-of-a-kind adventure movie. Jack Black plays Lemuel Gulliver, an inspiring writer in a newspaper mailroom who has a secret crush on his editor played by Amanda Peet. Hoping to impress his boss, he accepts a challenging assignment about the Bermuda Triangle that takes him on a dangerous seafaring adventure. After a tumultuous trip across seas and oceans, he finds himself washed up on the shores of Liliputs where he is enslaved by its tiny inhabitants. About "Rio"



And finally, from the studio that brought you the hit movies of the "Ice Age" trilogy comes another adventure that will surely fly high. Blue Sky Studios brings you the animation "Rio" starring the voices of Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Rodrigo Santoro, George Lopez, and Jake T. Austin.



"Rio" centers on Blu, a rare macaw bird who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there another of his kind — and that's she's a she — he leaves the comforts of his cage in a small town in Minnesota and heads to Rio de Janeiro. But it's far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life's many wonders.
